The Fathers' Committee focuses the fund raising efforts of parents and children in support of the School. We plan and organise various activities and events throughout the school year which help to achieve substantial improvements to the School facilities.
We meet in a pub, have a meal and a drink and discuss ways of raising money for KES, whilst having fun and putting on some really great events. We also welcome ways in which fathers can forge greater links with the school. New members are always welcome at meetings.
The committee welcomes any father who has a child at King Edward's School. You are welcome to just come along and observe how the committee works and have a chat with the other members. Currently we have fathers from the Pre-Prep and Senior schools but would also welcome fathers from the Junior School. Feel free just to turn up to one of our meetings.
There is always enthusiastic support for our fundraising social events which include a welcome party held early in the Autumn Term, a cheese and wine party, quiz evenings, Summer and Christmas Fairs, our highly popular Sporting Dinners, and the highlight of the year - the Christmas Ball - all of which help to bring the whole School community together and provide parents with the opportunity to meet each other. See our upcoming events.
The Fathers' Committee's fourth sporting dinner, featuring former England and British Lion rugby player Nigel Redman and a comedian, took place on the 15th October and was a great success, enjoyed by all present and raising a significant sum to be used to improve the school. Look out for future sporting dinners! More events...
"Welcome to the KES Fathers' Committee Website. If you are a KES Father,
we would love to see you for a drink at our next meeting. Equally, if you
are a KES parent or just a friend of the school, we would ask you to support
our fundraising events by attending
and participating. Thank you for visiting the site, and I hope to see you
at a future meeting or event."
Jonathon Schofield, current Chair of the Committee.
